Lancaster building

Simons clothing store is reported to be moving into the historic Lancaster building, and a rendering of the modifications the architect, McKinley Burkart plan have been released:

The rendering appears to indicate:
- removal of approximately 11 windows**
- removal of some of the 1st floor cornice at the South West corner
- removal of the (brass?) ground level window and door framing**
- reportedly also involves removal of the historic entrance staircase

** Not currently clear if the upper windows/frames and lower retail space framing is original or replica.

The Lancaster building, like approximately half of the historic sites on Stephen Avenue, has no protection.

No comments on this topic here. Why nobody interested in preventing Simons?
