A proposed Cultural Landscape Strategic Plan, addressing historic landscapes like Bowness Park, Central Memorial, Confederation park and more.... goes to a City Council's Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective Services on May 2. View the plan at http://www.calgary.ca/parks.

This is a public meeting and people can go to observe and speak. The agenda will be posted on the City website a few days in advance.

The Cultural Landscape Strategy is early on the committee agenda on Wednesday, item CPS 2012-22

The Strategy passed at committee with two dissenting votes (Alds. Demong and Chabot), so expect it to be discussed again when it comes up at the full City Council. Carmel Gatt spoke in support for the Calgary Heritage Authority, and also submitted a letter of support from CHI.
