What is the future of the Kerby Memorial Building?

The Kerby Centre for seniors is expected to be moving from their longtime home in the historic Kerby Memorial Building in the west end of downtown by 2017 according to news reports. The building, built in 1948 as part of the original Mount Royal College site, is on the City of Calgary's heritage inventory as a Citywide Historic Resource, and is a "mid-century" building of great architectural and historic significance: http://www.calgary.ca/PDA/LUPP/Pages/He ... urceId=363

What ultimately happens to the building, which is owned by the province (a legacy of its Mount Royal College days) is of great interest to heritage advocates. It is also part of a significant collection of major buildings from different eras in Calgary's history, including the Mewata Armoury (1917) and Planetarium (1967) across the street.
