Thanks, Carolyn, for posting those links. The house I'm now particularly interested in getting a picture of was that belonging to Maude and Harold Riley, at 1011-17th Street NW. It was known as the Maude Riley Home for Children and was torn down in 1959 when the children's shelter expanded.
I should mention that I was able to make good use of the CPL's newspaper clipping files on the Riley family as well as the old microfilmed copies of the Herald and Albertan held at the CPL, in researching this topic. The Glenbow Archives also has a fair bit on the Riley family, and I've waded through most of it. Haven't yet checked Corporate Archives, but plan to do so soon.
