The historic Victoria bungalow school is being moved to another part of the Arriva site (slid on steel rails using bars of soap!), and may ultimately house arts facilities. News article September 29, 2007. Full story at the link:

See above for more on Arriva and the Victoria Park schools ^

June 6 2008 - Developer John Torode has commissioned a spectacular artwork by Micah Lexier that will wrap around the Victoria Bungalow school. ...the sculpture, to be made of 500 metres of painted steel pipe, will twist, curl and flow around the Bungalow School in a series of arabesques and arch up into the air above it. Its open volumes will occupy space in a dynamic way that creates maximum visual impact by engaging and moving the eye, unlike solid, static sculptures dwarfed by the towers they adorn...

Well, since we last updated this thread the financial crisis happened, the Torode realty empire as it existed then, including the Arriva project, was dismantled. See the stories posted elsewhere:
http://calgaryheritage.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=2023#2023

The balance of the Arriva site is now the Guardian, under a new developer: http://theguardiancalgary.com/

The Victoria Bungalow school will not be wrapped in artwork (as Torode had proposed - see above), but by the end of March is reportedly opening as the new sales centre for the Guardian project (existing sales centre is in the base of Arriva, but that's supposedly temporary).
