Calgary - Announcing the 2008 CHA Lion Award Recipients
The Calgary Heritage Authority (CHA) will present thirteen
Lion Awards in six categories for heritage preservation this
evening at the Arrata Opera Centre, with two additional
projects receiving honourable mention.
The biennial event recognizes and celebrates heritage
initiatives on any scale in Calgary. This year marked a 70
per cent increase in nomination submissions over the 2006
event.
“We are very encouraged by the increased support and
consideration that both the development sector and the public
at large are taking in Calgary’s heritage”, said Calgary
Heritage Authority Chair, Gerry Meek. “It is through this
kind of support that heritage in Calgary continues to grow
and flourish.”
