Be sure to mark your calendar for Friday October 19 and Saturday October 20 for Calgary Public Library's 3rd annual Heritage Weekend.

We're excited to announce a new addition to Saturday's events:

The Oil Barrons: How the Oil Industry was Anchored in Calgary
Writer Irena Karshenbaum will speak about the Barron family's remarkable contributions to Calgary and how the Barron Building anchored the oil industry in the city.
Central Library, John Dutton Theatre 2nd floor
10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

This weekend will illuminate and celebrate our city’s growing appetite to understand its own past. There will be a stellar lineup of authors, historians, and advocates, including Calgary Public Library's own Writer-in-Residence Brian Brennan, newly crowned historian laureate Harry Sanders, and so many more.
