Friday September 19 2008 is the deadline to apply for appointment to the
Calgary Heritage Authority, which is the City of Calgary body responsible
for heritage issues, appointed by City Council (not to be confused with
our group, the Calgary Heritage Initiative Society).
There are a number of vacancies on CHA that Council needs to fill. CHA's
role is
- to advise the Council on all matters relating to historic resources in
the City;
- to maintain and amend the City's inventory of potential heritage sites;
- to advise the City on matters relating to the restoration, alteration
and demolition of sites in the City's inventory of potential heritage
sites.
