The Riley Family

The Riley family were Calgary pioneers who at one time owned almost 50 hectares of land in the NW Calgary area. Most people would have heard of Riley Park, which is just one of their legacies. Since I've always wondered what became of their North Hill mansions, I did a bit of digging and have posted some pics here: http://tinyurl.com/jt3hnf3 . But I'm hoping that someone out there knows of other "Riley" residences, or better yet, has access to some better pictures than some of the ones I've tracked down. If so, please let me know by replying.

The Calgary Public Library has the following pictures from the Alison Jackson collection in the Community Heritage and Family History Digital Library:

I hope this helps.

Thanks, Carolyn, for posting those links. The house I'm now particularly interested in getting a picture of was that belonging to Maude and Harold Riley, at 1011-17th Street NW. It was known as the Maude Riley Home for Children and was torn down in 1959 when the children's shelter expanded.
I should mention that I was able to make good use of the CPL's newspaper clipping files on the Riley family as well as the old microfilmed copies of the Herald and Albertan held at the CPL, in researching this topic. The Glenbow Archives also has a fair bit on the Riley family, and I've waded through most of it. Haven't yet checked Corporate Archives, but plan to do so soon.
