Libby Fairweather is the Executive Director of the Heritage Tree Foundation of Canada and has coordinated the Alberta Heritage Tree Project – She will speak about the foundation and the Alberta chapter, as well as their projects including the future Alberta Heritage Tree Registry and what it means for Calgary Heritage.
Michelle Reid is the conservation landscape architect for the City of Calgary Parks Department. She has worked on historic parks in the City including, Reader Rock Garden, Central Memorial Park, and Bowness Park. Her presentation at the Round Table will be on the historic Vacant Lot Garden Club and how it facilitated community gardening early in the development of Calgary. She will also talk about the success the Bridgeland-Riverside Community had in preserving the only known remaining Vacant Lot Garden in Calgary.
Russell Friesen is the Urban Forestry Coordinator with the City of Calgary Parks. He will speak about a number of city initiatives.
