Are you a front-line interpreter who wants to fine-tune your interpretive skills? Or an interpretive supervisor who wants a fun and easy way to help train your staff? This workshop is for you!
Join us for Interpretation Canada's first Summer Online Training Workshop. This new initiative follows the success of our popular fall online conferences, that have seen over two hundred interpreters from seven different countries come together to share ideas, become recharged, and develop further as professionals.
This summer, we are offering six sessions over two days targeted to front-line interpreters. All presenters are members of Interpretation Canada's new Training Development Committee, which is helping to update IC's module training program. Presenters include Cal Martin, Parks Canada; Lori Hill, Fort Edmonton; Jarrid Jenkins, Metro Vancouver; Peter Pacey, Calithumpians Theatre Company; and Sue Ellen Fast, Interpretation Canada (that's me).
You can participate in the six live hour-long interactive sessions, as well as have access to the recorded sessions throughout the summer. So if you need to spread them out to one per week, or to review them again, you will still have access.
For this event we offer individual registration as well as group rates, which will allow for multiple people to gather around a single computer or projection screen.
No matter how remote your museum, park, or site, you will be connected to a thriving community of interpreters. Come and get inspired, get updated, and get together – online!
A little more about us: IC is a not-for-profit association of contributing members with one staff person (me). Canadian interpreters first gathered in 1973 to establish the organization that would become IC. We keep membership costs low so all interpreters can belong if they choose to join. This online training event is only one of our wonderful member programs.
