Hello everyone,
the Federation of Calgary Communities is putting together a Magazine to commemorate our 50th anniversary. The magazine will highlight community life in Calgary over the past 50 years: from 1930 to present day. We are working hard to get stories and quotes from people about community and neighbourhood life in Calgary over the past 5 decades. Can you help?
If you, or family or friends, have lived/live in Calgary anywhere between 1930 and present day, please share with us! We are looking for quotes, stories and even photos.
Below are some questions that you could forward on to those you think could help us out:
1. What community/communities have you lived in Calgary? And during what decades?
2. What was community/neighbourhood life like during your time living there?
3. How did people come together in your neighbourhood?
4. Do you have any stories about community volunteering?
5. Are there any community events/stories that impacted your life?
6. How has community life changed over time?
Please encourage your personal network to get involved in our decade conversations. Their contribution may even get published!
Anyone interested can send me replies to the above questions via e-mail, we can schedule a telephone chat or a one-on-one meeting; whatever works best for them. Please have them contact me directly. Thanks everyone!
